My client is a leading EPCI solutions provider when it comes to offshore structural design, fabrication and installation. As they expand operations in Norway, they seek to make the acquisition of a Project Manager on a permanent basis. Job Summary:
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating project activities, resources, and stakeholders, while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and budgetary requirements. Your strong project management skills and experience in the marine engineering industry will be essential in driving successful outcomes and exceeding client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage marine engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, objectives, and deliverables, and develop comprehensive project plans accordingly.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including project charters, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and progress reports.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively manage project-related issues to minimize impact on project delivery.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring clear and timely exchange of information.
- Coordinate and manage project resources, including human resources, equipment, and materials, to optimize project efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Conduct regular project meetings, including kick-off, progress review, and project closure meetings, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment among team members.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting and enforcing best practices, conducting safety audits, and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, cultivating partnerships that drive successful project outcomes and future business opportunities.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project team members, facilitating their professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the marine engineering industry, with a focus on offshore structures.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Familiarity with marine engineering principles, selecting materials, and fabrication techniques.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using project management software and tools to plan, monitor, and control project activities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, track costs, and deliver projects within financial constraints.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken), knowledge of Norwegian is a plus.
