Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a busy construction contractor seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in finishes and fit-out works. The successful candidate will play a key role in cost management, procurement, and contract administration, ensuring all works are delivered in line with British Standards (BS) and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQs) for finishing works including plastering, flooring, painting, joinery, and MEP finishes.
- Manage project costs from inception through to completion, ensuring value for money and cost control.
- Interpret and apply BS Standards relevant to finishes and construction practices.
- Conduct tender analysis, procurement, and subcontractor negotiations.
- Prepare interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Monitor project progress and provide accurate financial reporting.
- Assess and certify subcontractor payments.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage project risks.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and quality standards.
- Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers, and site teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–10 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor with some focus on finishes / fit-out projects.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of British Standards (BS).
- Proven experience in cost control, procurement, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CostX, Excel, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
