 Our greatest asset has been, and will continue to be, our people. We are currently looking for experienced, motivated and creative individual to fill a Reservoir Engineer position in the Delaware Basin Appraisal Team on ORCM Subsurface Technical team in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide reservoir engineering appraisal/development recommendations and support for Delaware Basin assets. Support includes integration of subsurface data with production data, understanding risks and opportunities in each area of responsibility (e.g., geological risks/opportunities, depletion risks, interference risks, design risks/upside, etc.) and estimating well performance. Understanding and optimizing for key productivity drivers is critical.

  • Responsible for creating type well profiles (TWPs) for all potential benches for appraisal.  Leverage experience with various type well profile (TWP) workflows to choose and refine best methodology.  Work product includes assessing risk factors, confidence level quantification, and forecasting ranges of outcomes for well Provide TWP documentation and justification for annual reserves booking and business plan cycles.

  • Create and maintain RTA models for many wedge wells in areas of responsibility. Be able to assess reservoir diagnostics based on well performance.

  • Integrator and coordinator of program lookbacks to evaluate lessons learned and improvements for future programs. Such responsibility also includes evaluating, communicating well performance results, assessment of science diagnostics, extracting technical learnings, and understanding key business implications of each learning.

  • Maintain surveillance of offset competitor activity around area of responsibility.

  • Effectively communicates with management, reservoir characterization teams, engineering teams, operations teams, and other stake holders.

  • Key interfaces: Subsurface Characterization, Subsurface Technology, and Development teams, ORCM Business Units, and key support organizations including Land, Legal and Regulatory Teams.

Qualifications

 

Education:

  • BS or higher degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.

 

Experience:

  • 5 years or more of related experience preferred with emphasis on Permian Basin 

  • Experience with RTA on unconventional assets and applying best practices. 

  • Experience/working knowledge with reservoir simulation modeling, frac modeling, frac design, and/or geomechanics modeling.

  • Knowledge of reserves reporting processes and PRMS and SEC Reserves definitions

  • Possess strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to effectively share information to mentor/develop others.

  • Creative thinker with a desire to challenge the status quo and conventional thinking with the ability to implement new ideas, processes and technologies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information

  • Excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and meet tight deadlines

  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills with experience working in a multi-discipline team environment

  • Experience in economic evaluation, AFE process and reserves reporting

  • Experience reporting reserves and familiarity with the reserve process.

  • Familiar with other key reservoir software, such as PEEP and OFM preferred.
