JOB TITLE: SENIOR ENGINEER ELECTRICAL

 

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review the ITB (Invitation To Bid) documents submitted in the proposals stage, issue inquiry requisitions,

  • review techno-commercial vendor offers and prepare equipment, material, and man-hour estimates.

  • Review contract requirements for project execution and organize the preparation of the Technical Document

  • Register (TDR), identify requirements and scope of work; review specifications and Data Sheets, Piping &

  • Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), Plot plans, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, Review

  • Philosophies, Area Classification Drawings and other relevant documents.  Establish contract review

  • criteria, identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal through the instigation

  • of technical queries to projects/client.

  • Verify scope of work, budgeted man hours, budgeted quantities, total of deliverables, format of delivery,

  • time schedules and other specifications for the execution of the work. Monitor man-hour costs and team

  • schedules. Recommend cost-effective measures to reduce the overall package cost. 

  • Apportion work among engineering staff according to specialized training and supervise the preparation of

  • equipment and cable layouts, lighting layouts, earthing and lightning protection layouts, cable schedules,

  • bill of quantities, work estimations, etc.

  • Organize the preparation of equipment and material specifications and data sheets; administer the

  • development of detailed engineering calculations and drawings, including the preparation of Load

  • List/schedule Single Line Diagrams, Schematic Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, Cable Schedules and Cable

  • Drum Schedules, Interconnection Schedules, Hazardous Area Classification, Equipment Lay-outs, and Cable

  • Routing and Lay-out Drawings, Cable Trench/Tray Lay-out Drawings, Lighting System Lay-out and

  • Details, Earthing/Lighting System Lay-out and Details, Heat Tracing Lay-out and Details, Installation

  • Standard drawings, relay coordination drawings, and other required documents.

  • Supervise the preparation of technical inquiry requests (Inquiry Requisitions) to vendors and participate in the

  • technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Perform Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and review vendor

  • drawings and documents.  Ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client equipment

  • specifications and are within budgeted costs.

  • Direct and provide guidance in the preparation and evaluation of plot plans; organize the issuance of

  • engineering drawings and technical documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDC’s) coordinate with other

  • engineering discipline in the integration of technical data inputs.

  • Coordinate the preparation of purchase requisitions for the procurement of equipment and materials.

  • Ensure materials are obtained within scheduled timeframes and budgeted costs.

  • Direct and monitor Material Take Off (MTO) activities, identify irregularities and shortfalls, and take corrective

  • action as required.

  • Interface and regularly meet with client and vendor representatives, conduct internal staff meetings,

  • ensure the progress of the project in accordance with the schedule, allotted man hours, and budgeted costs.

  • Coordinate with projects and planning departments on schedule-related issues.  Update TDR progress

  • reports through the use of PETROCEPT software.

  • Participate in the HAZOP meeting with the client and representatives of the other engineering disciplines.

  • Interact with Quality Assurance for quality issues and strictly ensure compliance with Company’s ISO Quality

  • procedures.   Coordinate Internal and Client audit requests and facilitate audit procedures of engineering

  • systems within the department.

  • Assumes the responsibilities of the principal engineer during his absence.

  • Perform related duties as and when directed by the direct supervisor.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Refer to the HR/OD Competency Management System (CMS)

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of related petrochemical experience

  • preferable from a background in working for consultancy organizations in the EPC. Minimum 5 years of

  • experience shall be in the oil and gas industry.

  • Duties performed in the main office are mostly in air-conditioned surroundings. Occasionally, incumbent would require

  • traveling to client/PMC offices, sites and vendor workshops for inspections.
