Al Yasat Overview:

“Established in 2014, we are company’s leading upstream company charged with driving marginal field development, and the first joint venture in the GCC between company (60%) and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC – 40%). 

Our activities span the hydrocarbon value chain from exploration to oil production of onshore and offshore concession areas. By taking an entrepreneurial approach and drawing on the expertise of established company upstream operating companies, we are using a cost-effective operating model to develop these concession areas and enable their profitable development.

 JOB PURPOSE:

 

Review and supervises all well intervention operations, on site production testing activities, and acquire data for reservoir monitoring.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities

  • Review programs for rigless operations, perforation, kick-off operation, stimulation, scale cleanout, Well Killing and well testing to be carried out by service companies.
  • Verifies Rigless job log and tickets/invoices.
  • Review programs for various well tests such as multi-rate production/injection tests and isochronal/modified isochronal tests.  Coordinates and supervises testing operations and carries out preliminary interpretation and evaluation of test results.
  • Follow up and supervises critical wireline/e-line work carried out by contractors.  Verify various reports and send to Asset Development for further review and action.
  • Supervises critical production logging and carries out preliminary log interpretation and evaluation of test results.
  • Coordinates down hole equipment testing and maintenance.
  • Assess the performance of installed production equipment.
  • Participates in technical studies concerning water/gas injection and artificial lift projects, oil and gas operations, facilities optimization, or modification, as assigned.
  • Participates in the development of operating, reporting and recording procedures for oil, gas and water production/injection performance

Supervision

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

 

 

Budgets

  • Provide input for preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

  • Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management

  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

 

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and company Code of Practices.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal

  • Daily interaction with Manager, Drilling & Petroleum Engineering and team members within Department and Division on the ongoing operation and project.

External

  • Contacts with other OPCOs on issues related to work and well Integrity.
  • Occasional contacts with consultants and contractors on projects carried out for Al Dhafra Petroleum.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in petroleum/ chemical/mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • 10 plus years of experience, including at least 6 years in Production Engineering.

Professional Certifications

  • IWCF (International Well Control Forum) Well Intervention Pressure Control level 4 or equivalent (Preferable).

 TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Good knowledge of computers, spreadsheets and software packages.
  • Decision-making, prioritizing abilities,
  • Analytical & creative bent of mind.
  • Good communication, report writing and presentation skills. Proficient in English.
  • Experience in technical required software.

Job Purpose

Plans, supervises and/or carries out a variety of duties relating to rigless operations, testing and stimulation to ensure optimization of oil/gas producing wells, water supply and water/gas injection wells. Provides technical support to field operations in the production of hydrocarbons and the efficient use of water and/or gas injection systems.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

•    Prepare programs for rigless operations, perforation, kick-off operation, stimulation and well testing to be carried out by service companies.
•    Prepare programs for various well tests such as multi-rate production/injection tests and isochronal/modified isochronal tests.  Coordinates and supervises testing operations and carries out preliminary interpretation and evaluation of test results.
•    Follow up and supervises all wireline work carried out by contractors.  Verify various reports and send to Asset Development for further review and action.
•    Supervises production logging and carries out preliminary log interpretation and evaluation of test results.
•    Monitors oil/gas producing and water injection wells performance.  Investigates and diagnoses well problems and proposes action requirements.  Recommends workover for specific wells giving prognosis of each well and workover justification.
•    Coordinates and supervise down hole equipment testing and maintenance.
•    Reviews and evaluates water injection clusters performance and discusses the long term injection test with concerned engineers of other Departments.
•    Monitors and discuss the performance of installed production equipment.
•    Participates in technical studies concerning water/gas injection and artificial lift projects, oil and gas operations, facilities optimization or modification, as assigned.
•    Maintains comprehensive database on well history, oil/gas production, water production/ injection and gas injection statistics.
•    Participates in the development of operating, reporting and recording procedures for oil, gas and water production/injection performance.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

8 years of experience Petroleum Engineering including workover, completion, well testing and production operations.
