The Service Technician is supporting troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and testing high‑voltage X‑ray generators, X‑ray tubes, and associated subsystems. The role is ensuring smooth in‑house repairs, field service activities, and preventive maintenance programs while maintaining compliance with radiation safety standards and manufacturer specifications. The technician is collaborating closely with engineering, quality, and customer support teams to deliver safe, reliable, and timely service.
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for:
Diagnosing and repairing high‑voltage X‑ray generators, power supplies, control boards, and inverter modules
Performing X‑ray tube testing, conditioning, vacuum integrity checks, and filament/cathode/anode evaluations
Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and thermal issues using schematics, HV diagrams, and diagnostic tools
Executing preventive maintenance on generators, tubes, cooling systems, and interlock circuits
Documenting repairs, test results, parts usage, and failure analysis in detailed service reports
Maintaining compliance with radiation safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and ESD standards
Supporting RMA evaluations, root‑cause analysis, and refurbishment workflows
Assisting with customer communication regarding repair findings, timelines, and recommendations
Traveling overseas for training certifications as required for new and existing products
To be successful in this role you will:
Have a technical diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
Have strong understanding of high‑voltage circuits, power electronics, transformers, and 3‑phase/single‑phase systems
Have ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
Have experience using oscilloscopes, HV probes, multimeters, and diagnostic software tools
Have knowledge of radiation safety principles and regulatory requirements
Have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Have ability to lift 40–50 lbs and work safely around high‑voltage and X‑ray systems
Have 2–5 years of experience servicing X‑ray generators, tubes, or high‑voltage imaging equipment (preferred)
Have background in refurbishment, failure analysis, or component‑level board repair (preferred)
Have understanding of cooling systems (oil, water, forced air) used in X‑ray equipment (preferred)
Have prior experience in a regulated manufacturing or service environment such as ISO 9001 (preferred)
