About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Solar PV Project Manager to join our client, one of the world’s leading energy companies in the support of their ambition in developing an international leadership and profitable presence in the UK solar distributed generation market.

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual to play a pivotal role in driving our company’s growth and success in the UK solar distributed generation market. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from presales and sales support to project execution and delivery. You will work closely with customers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough customer requirements analysis and develop conceptual and preliminary designs
  • Obtain accurate project cost estimates by sourcing quotes from contractors
  • Conduct site visits to gather essential project details, including area, interconnection, structural suitability, and safety requirements
  • Perform technical due diligence for project acquisitions
  • Coordinate technical requests between business developers, customers, and the central technical team to deliver optimal solutions
  • Review engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Optimize technical aspects of offers, including non-binding and binding proposals, to maximize value
  • Conduct technology assessments, cost optimization exercises, and sensitivity analyses
  • Organize and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Prepare technical packages for contractor selection through RFP processes
  • Evaluate technical proposals submitted by EPC contractors and main equipment suppliers
  • Coordinate design review processes with external parties
  • Proactively anticipate and address potential delays or changes that could impact project timelines
  • Supervise and troubleshoot construction-related technical issues
  • Ensure projects adhere to technical specifications and applicable standards
  • Coordinate and supervise all technical conditions required for provisional acceptance
  • Manage asset registration in the REN digital tool (NetSuite)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Solar PV Project Manager
  • Additional training in Solar PV design and technology is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and other relevant PV software
  • Ability to read, write, and understand clear and comprehensive technical documentation
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and creative thinking
  • Willingness to travel as assigned
  • Fluency in English; French is a plus
