The supplier quality engineering specialist will collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Site Quality Team, Global Supply Chain, and Global Sourcing team on all activities required to effectively manage supplier quality requirements, supplier qualifications, supplier monitoring & supplier development

As a Sourcing Specialist – Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Serving as the focal point for supplier‑quality activities across the supplier base, managing issue resolution (CA/PA), supplier approval, qualification, development, process control, and quality assurance in alignment with Global Sourcing quality initiatives.
  • Acting as the technical focal point for supplier activities related to process control and quality assurance of site materials and components.
  • Driving continuous improvement of supplier quality performance through Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Monitoring and driving reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) in partnership with Sourcing and Quality teams to address defect‑related costs.
  • Tracking and analyzing supplier non‑conformance trends, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Providing technical guidance to suppliers to ensure product and process compliance with engineering drawings, customer flow‑down requirements, and specifications.
  • Collaborating closely with Sourcing, Quality, Project, and Engineering teams to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that impact quality requirements.
  • Driving improvements within the internal supplier base and reporting performance metrics monthly.
  • Owning and maintaining site SQE‑related procedures, ensuring regular review and updates.
  • Ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) values by promoting identification, monitoring, and control of environmental impacts and occupational risks through leadership, training, and commitment.
  • Working in accordance with company policies and procedures related to quality and operations, reporting any non‑compliance, concerns, or risks, and supporting continuous improvement of products, processes, and services.

Fuel your passion 

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrate strong capability in managing and overseeing supplier‑quality performance, ensuring deliverables meet organizational needs, goals, and objectives.
  • Serve as the technical focal point for supplier activities related to process control and quality assurance, establishing structured and consistent approaches aligned with quality procedures and requirements.
  • Apply solid knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including supplier qualification processes, analytical techniques, and problem‑solving frameworks, while effectively coordinating multiple priorities.
  • Bring working knowledge of key industry standards and processes, including ISO 9001, API Q1, and manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, forgings, coating, and NDT.
