Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Specialist Advisor – Trackless Mobile Maintenance to provide technical leadership and specialist advisory support across its underground Drill & Blast and Load & Haul fleet. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will act as the site’s principal technical authority on Epiroc drilling equipment and underground mobile machinery, driving equipment reliability, mentoring maintenance leadership, leading complex fault investigations, and improving long-term maintenance strategy and asset performance.

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist technical leadership for underground Drill & Blast and Load & Haul equipment.
• Act as the technical authority for Epiroc Simba and Boomer drilling rigs.
• Coach and mentor the Trackless Mobile Maintenance Superintendent and supervisory teams.
• Lead complex fault finding and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
• Develop maintenance and reliability strategies to improve fleet performance.
• Drive defect elimination and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Optimise MTBF, MTTR and equipment availability.
• Provie technical oversight of major rebuilds and component replacement strategies.
• Manage OEM technical relationships, warranty claims and specialist contractors.
• Support commissioning of new and rebuilt underground equipment.
• Ensure CMMS data integrity, reporting and maintenance governance.
• Provide technical input into OPEX, CAPEX and equipment lifecycle decisions.
• Promote safety leadership and compliance with statutory mining requirements.
• Transfer specialist knowledge and develop internal maintenance capability.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/BTech).
• GCC Mines & Works (Mechanical) advantageous.
• Trade qualification (Diesel Mechanic/Fitter) highly advantageous.
• Minimum 20 years’ underground hard rock Trackless Mobile Equipment experience.
• Senior HME Manager or equivalent leadership experience.
• Extensive experience with Epiroc Simba and Boomer underground drill rigs.
• Strong underground Load & Haul equipment experience (LHDs & underground trucks).
• Proven expertise in reliability engineering, RCFA and equipment diagnostics.
• Experience managing OEMs and specialist contractors.
• Experience with CMMS systems (D365/Dynaway or similar).
