JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB PURPOSE:

 

Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic objectives for the adoption of futuristic technologies in alignment with company vision. Participate and contribute to establish technology process work flow, technology governance and technology portfolio for the purpose of implementation of cost-effective technologies to achieve business value, 100% HSE, process safety, sustainability & decarbonization goals and technology transformation. Identify and develop value-adding technology use cases by leading the ideation, technology scouting, assessment, demonstration, piloting, deployment and scaleup to achieve the efficient implementation of the emerging technologies. Contribute to the development of technology and digital capabilities, skills, and awareness in conjunction with the talent management team.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Production Technology Expertise

 

  • Lead the process of idea generation and collection of value-adding ideas through ideation workshops, to turn business challenges and problem statements into use cases.

  • Scout for state-of-the-art technologies and AI that enhance the business value of the company or mitigate the challenges in the operating assets.

  • Conduct technology assessment by review of vendor proposals, develop design basis & success criteria, facilitate risk assessment to de-risk technology, integrate contributions from various relevant disciplines to identify and select the fit for purpose technology solution.

  • Implement the Ai & technology governance to drive proof of concepts as necessary including the development of acceptance criteria to demonstrate the technology performance.

  • Drive and support the piloting and deployment of the assigned engineering and AI technology projects to ensure successful implementation in the company assets

  • Conduct thorough assessments of current technological capabilities, leveraging benchmarking methodologies to evaluate performance against industry standards and provide the recommendation

  • Contribute to the development of Ai & technology management roadmap to ensure that all company Innovation strategic goals and objectives are effectively and efficiently managed.

  • Conduct the Ai & technology steering committee and sub-committee meetings periodically and present the company technology portfolio to the leadership and provide support to endorsement decisions.

  • Support the use case governance, change management, communication, portfolio management, value metric reporting and measurement. Develop the company technology portfolio through continuous tracking of KPIs of various technology projects.

  • Drive the assigned GRC Programs in line with technical challenges/opportunities faced by site operations. Provide technical support to obtain research proposals and ensure project progress as planned. Ensure that R&D results will be demonstrated and deployed successfully in company operations in a safe way.

  • Identify short, medium, and long-term partnerships to deliver value from use cases, obtain skills and capabilities and co-development and evaluation of new technologies.

  • Develop training programs and conduct awareness sessions to familiarize the target employees on new Ai & technologies.

  • Value generation (cost Savings) Mechanism Development methodologies to quantify and track cost savings resulting from technology implementations, aligning with company’s  Gas 5-year business plan and financial objectives

  • Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to anticipate technological opportunities ( AI and Digital ) and risks for the organization and provide the recommendation

  • Value generation reporting through finance and its validation cycle.

  • Review the Digital Design philosophy and provide the necessary feedback to ensure the adoption of the latest AI and technologies on all Capital project phases

 

Supervision

 

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.

  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective functional objectives.

 

Budgets

 

  • Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver functional objectives.

  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control

 

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

 

  • Implement approved Section / Team / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.

 

Performance Management

 

  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the function in line with the Company Performance framework.

 

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

 

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.

  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Digital technologies

 

  • Explore and implement digital technologies such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twin, Robotics, Drones related to corrosion, cathodic protection remote monitoring system to enhance efficiency, productivity and Asset Integrity and Process safety.

 

 

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

 

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and company Code of Practices.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

 

Minimum Qualification

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline preferably in chemical, Industrial, Electrical.

 

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

 

  • 8 years of experience in technologies selection, assessment, and implementation within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.

  • Knowledge of relevant engineering principles

  • Experience in the development and reviews of relevant policies, standards and procedures.

  • Working knowledge and skills in various Systems and Tools related to AI and technology.

  • Relevant functional and professional skills, good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Planning and Organising, Scheduling and Co-ordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording

  • Excellent technical writing skills,

  • Project Management skills, Root Cause Analysis, Strong engineering capabilities,

  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, along with a continuous-improvement mind-set.
