Job Description:

Our client, a global provider of mining and ground support solutions, is seeking a motivated Technical Sales Officer – Local Markets to support business growth within the Gold Division in South Africa. The role focuses on key mining regions including Northern Cape, Carletonville, Westonaria, and Welkom.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing customer relationships, managing regional sales, and driving new business opportunities. This role is well suited to a driven, developing sales professional looking to grow within a fast-paced mining environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow sales within the Gold Division and assigned regional territory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with mine-based customers and contractors
  • Identify new business opportunities and manage the sales pipeline effectively
  • Conduct regular site visits and maintain the company’s preferred supplier status
  • Execute account plans and territory strategies to meet sales targets
  • Provide accurate market intelligence and competitor insights
  • Maintain CRM records and reporting using Salesforce or similar systems
  • Ensure timely and professional response to customer requirements
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all client engagements
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Proven experience in sales within or into the mining industry
  • Understanding of the Gold mining sector and regional market dynamics
  • Technical qualification or trade certificate (advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong customer relationship management and communication skills
  • Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region
  • Commercial awareness and sales-driven mindset
  • Proficiency in CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work independently
  • Strong administrative and reporting capabilities
  • Willingness to develop within a high-performance sales environment
