Position Overview

Civil Works Engineer & Supervisor will be responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating civil works at the field/site, ensuring that all activities are completed safely, on schedule, within the required quality standards, and in accordance with approved engineering specifications, company procedures, and applicable Algerian regulations. The role requires a strong combination of civil engineering knowledge and hands-on site supervision experience, with the ability to coordinate contractors, subcontractors, field personnel, and other disciplines in an oilfield environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise civil construction activities at the site.
• Review civil engineering drawings, specifications, method statements, and construction documentation.
• Ensure civil works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors performing civil works and monitor their performance.
• Coordinate daily site activities and ensure appropriate resources, manpower, materials, tools, and equipment are available.
• Monitor progress against the approved construction schedule and identify potential delays or technical issues.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality and compliance of civil works.
• Supervise activities such as:
  • Foundations and concrete works
  • Reinforced concrete structures
  • Building and facility construction
  • Roads, access roads, and hardstanding areas
  • Drainage and stormwater systems
  • Earthworks and excavation
  • Structural and architectural works
  • Fencing and site infrastructure
  • Underground utilities and associated civil works
  • Site preparation and reinstatement
• Prepare and review daily/weekly progress reports and provide updates to the project/site management team.
• Support quantity surveying, progress measurement, and verification of contractor work quantities where required.
• Coordinate with engineering and project teams regarding technical queries, design changes, and field modifications.
• Ensure proper documentation and close-out of completed civil works.
• Provide technical support and guidance to site personnel and contractors.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies, client requirements, HSE standards, and Algerian legislation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Significant experience in civil construction and site supervision, preferably within the Oil & Gas, Energy, Industrial, or EPC sector.
• Previous experience in a Civil Engineer, Civil Supervisor, Construction Engineer, or Site Civil Engineer/Supervisor position.
• Strong experience supervising contractors and subcontractors in a field/site environment.
• Good knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and quality-control practices.
• Experience with concrete works, foundations, earthworks, drainage, roads, and general site infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong awareness of construction HSE requirements and safe working practices.
• Ability to work effectively with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
