This is a full-time role based in Farnborough, Hampshire, UK at Sondex Wireline Ltd. A business within the Wireline Services division of Baker Hughes. The company designs, manufactures, and repairs a diverse range of electromechanical instruments (Wireline Downhole tools) that operate in deep oil and gas wells, under extremely harsh environments.
Partner with the best
The Electronic Service Technician will troubleshoot and repair wireline equipment for Baker Hughes, they will be required to fault find and diagnose defects and to create structured repairs schedules based on predefined procedures and test schemes. They will fault find at component level on PCBs and re-assemble and solder electronics assemblies.
As an Electronics Service Technician, you will be responsible for:
Troubleshooting problems by testing components, circuits, and hardware to isolate faults, using equipment such as oscilloscopes and DMM’s and bespoke equipment
Repairing or replacing damaged components, wiring or PCB’s using soldering irons and hand tools
Reassembling devices after repairs and performing quality testing to ensure proper function before returning to customer
Providing accurate repair quotes and documentation of work performed.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
Have an excellent understanding of electronic components and circuits and a relevant qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
Be proficient with using diagnostic equipment and testing tools.
Be able to follow repair instructions and schematics
Have strong attention to detail and manual dexterity and good communication and customer service skills
