The Lead Sourcing Specialist, as part of the Headquarter Indirect Sourcing team, is responsible for managing a region wide supply base, supporting all legal entities and product lines, managing wing to wing all the materials and services purchasing phases, from supplier scouting, to order placing and contract management.

The Lead Sourcing Specialist is accountable to solve complex problems, execute objectives, and support short-term/long-term business goals. Is accountable for functional, business, and operational company objectives. Integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization. Is involved in operational and financial planning and contributes to the overall business strategy.

As  Lead Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for

  • Being accountable for materials and services sourcing and procurement, driving deflation, variable cost productivity, and cash flow targets.
  • Leading procurement operations from request for quotation to order issuing, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Managing strategic suppliers for indirect buy, handling orders of medium/high complexity or medium/high annual volume.
  • Developing, implementing, and leading overall supplier strategy in coordination with BH global commodity strategy, including simplification, sourcing process integrity, and productivity optimization.
  • Balancing strategy development with tactical execution to deliver cost reduction projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and sustainable cost controls, while collaborating with Finance to validate impacts.
  • Influencing cross‑functional teams in supplier selection, acting as the focal point to drive decision‑making through strong influencing skills.
  • Building technical and market expertise by teaming closely with BH global indirect sourcing team and business functions.
  • Identifying and assessing supplier capabilities, measuring and managing supplier performance.
  • Negotiating lowest possible costs while maintaining the highest quality of goods and services.
  • Interfacing with other BH business sourcing teams and participating in company strategic sourcing initiatives.

To be successful in this role you need the below:

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Finance
  • Have proven experience in Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, and/or Commercial background
  • Be high‑energy, self‑motivated, and willing to take on responsibilities across functions and team boundaries
  • Have strong negotiation skills
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills in English and Norwegian, including executive communication
  • Have the ability to coach and influence peers and senior management
  • Have the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Have superior listening skills
  • Be willing and able to travel
  • Have proven ability to develop and retain talent
  • Preferred to have proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Preferred to have experience with Oracle/Ariba purchasing systems
  • Preferred to have negotiation expertise
  • Desired to have APICS certification
  • Preferred to have strong project management and process improvement skills
