Materials Engineer

Airswift is seeking a Materials Engineer to work on an outsourced temporary (1 year) contract in Rio de Janeiro with a major Oil & Gas Operator.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Follow-on fabrication of engineering equipment
  • Construction and fabrication follow-up of equipment components across the globe – travel must be expected.
  • Support EPI to develop SO-documentation.
  • Perform verification activities and drive qualification process of the materials fabricator to be permanent qualified as a supplier.
  • Verification of Contractor(s) deliverables during engineering, procurement and fabrication/construction of the equipment. 
  • Reporting of Contractor’s progress to management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS 

  • M.Sc. in Marine Technology, Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, or similar
  • Experience with fabrication of heavy equipment
  • Experience in materials analysis for construction of equipment, pipping, chains.
  • Experience ensure the specification of the materials (welding types, etc)
  • Experience in welding, NDT is desirable
  • Experience from construction site follow-up
  • Experience with quality follow-up
  • Experience as Company Representative
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with technology qualification and vendor qualification
