Job Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for instilling and rewarding safe working practices within the asset’s operations 
  • Responsible to ensure adherence to Company Policies, Standards, Procedures, and Guidelines, as well as all applicable laws within the asset’s operations 
  • Responsible for executing the asset’s business plan including: 
  • Responsible for managing the asset’s base production management and minimize decline rate 
  • Responsible for return and non-return maintenance capital program development for the asset 
  • Responsible for the OPEX budget and OPEX reduction initiative development for the asset 
  • Accountable for ensuring a working environment where the Asset Team feels free to continually innovate and strive to improve the value captured from the asset’s operations 
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining staffing plans for the Asset Team 
  • Responsible for the development of personnel within the Asset Team 
  • In Development Assets: 

  • Ensures adherence to the development planning, appraisal and exploration projects previously approved to be executed as part of portfolio allocation 
    • Works closely with the Development Team to ensure that the Field Development Plan (FDP) objectives are clearly understood such that the Asset Manager can: 
      • Assign direction, tasks, and resources to the Production Management Team to effectively deliver the requirements of the FDP 
      • Assign direction, tasks, and resources to the Field Operations Team to effectively deliver the requirements of the FDP 
  • Ensure that Development Teams are appraised of any changes in the program that may impact the FDP and recommend solutions to obstacles and limitations 
  • Accountable for ensuring productive, collaborative communication between the Asset Team and the Development, Drilling & Completions, Facilities and Construction, Production Operations, and other support groups to foster the innovative and positive work environment that Oxy strives to provide 

Qualifications

 

Education:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Geology/Geoscience disciplines preferred 

 

Experience:Minimum of 10+ years of engineering experience in the petroleum industry or 15+ years in production operations 

 

Professional and Technical Knowledge/Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Demonstrated safety leadership skills 
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering and operating principles required, recognized accomplishments in production, facilities, drilling, completions or reservoir engineering or production operations 
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of economic analysis, risk assessment, and value capture 
  • Demonstrated understanding of required business processes and regulatory requirements 
  • Working knowledge of project management skills 
  • Experience working in organizations with multi-discipline staffs 
  • Detailed knowledge of field production operations and facility maintenance 
  • Detailed understanding of workover and coil tubing operations 
  • General knowledge of drilling and completions operations 
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills managing multi-disciplined teams 
  • Strong communication and networking skills with ability to influence without direct authority 
  • – Ability to build effective teams 

  • – Demonstrated quality decision making ability 

  • – Drive for results, sense of accountability for both personal and team performance 

  • Demonstrated creativity in problem solving and ability to implement new ideas 
  • Ability to adapt to change and ambiguity, effectively acts without having complete picture.

  • Detailed understanding of multiple artificial lift types, applications, design criteria and options with gas lift, beam and ESP experience preferred
