About Baytown

With a population of more than 77,000, Baytown, Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, just east of Houston, the nation’s fourth largest city. Those who live and work in Baytown will find an area rich in history, as well as opportunities for outdoor activities due to its proximity to scenic waterways, namely Galveston Bay, the San Jacinto River and Buffalo Bayou.

Founded in 1919, ExxonMobil’s Baytown Complex is located on approximately 3,400 acres along the Houston Ship Channel, about 25 miles east of Houston. Employing a workforce of more than 8,500, it is comprised of four manufacturing sites, including one in nearby Mont Belvieu, and a global technology center. These include the Baytown Refinery, one of the largest refineries in the United States, and the Baytown Olefins Plant, one of the largest ethylene plants in the world.

Its scope of products includes fuels, lube oils, and chemical compounds used in a diverse range of products, from auto battery cases, diapers and tire inner tubes to pharmaceutical uses, food packaging, trash bags and more.

The Baytown area sites are highly integrated, which makes the plants and products more efficient as we develop technologies to make cleaner fuels and work together to operate more safely and reliably.

About Baton Rouge

Located on the banks of the Mississippi river in southeastern Louisiana, Baton Rouge is the state capital with more than 800,000 residents (the second largest city in the state). Famous for its fusion of cultures, Southern hospitality, diverse cuisine and college football, it is also a significant port and a major industrial and petrochemical center.

Our Baton Rouge operations began in 1909 and have grown into an integrated complex that includes the Baton Rouge Refinery, the third largest refinery in the United States, the Baton Rouge Chemical Plant and several other plants and terminals. Its scope of products produced includes everything from traditional gasoline and diesel fuel to sophisticated chemical compounds that are used in diapers, shampoos, truck bed liners, makeup, crayons and hundreds more!

As the second largest employer in the state, our daily challenges include safely operating eight interconnected sites on a round-the-clock basis. We’re required to constantly adjust and respond to fluctuating markets and resource availability. We oversee the production of more than 2.9 billion pounds of products annually, while constantly searching for ways to improve and optimize our operations.

Our Baton Rouge complex is known for more than its size. In 2016, three of the six manufacturing plants that received Distinguished Safety Awards by the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers association were located at the Baton Rouge complex.

About Beaumont

With a population of more than 118,000, Beaumont ,Texas, is located in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, on the Neches River, about 85 miles east of Houston, the nation’s fourth largest city. Beaumont has been a home to the oil industry from the days of the Spindletop oil boom until today, and along with nearby Port Arthur and Orange, is part of the Golden Triangle industrial area on the Texas Gulf Coast. Those who live and work in Beaumont will find a close-knit community with friendly people and opportunities to explore the area at its many restaurants and businesses, as well as numerous museums and nature parks.

Built along the banks of the Neches River in 1903, the original ExxonMobil Beaumont refining facilities have grown into an integrated petrochemical complex on 2,700 acres and have contributed to the economic and social landscape of southeast Texas. In fact, 1 in 7 jobs in Jefferson County are linked to ExxonMobil, making it an integral part of the community. With a workforce of more than 5,500, the Beaumont complex includes a refinery, chemical plant, polyethylene plant and lubricant blending and packaging plant. The complex is part of ExxonMobil’s current building and expansion plans for the U.S. Gulf Coast.

Not only does Beaumont produce Mobil 1, the world’s leading synthetic motor oil, it is the only manufacturer of Mobil Aviation Greases. Other products include fuels and chemical compounds used in a diverse range of products, including plastics, Nylon, shrink wrap and more.

What role you will play in our team

ExxonMobil is looking for outstanding candidates to be part of ExxonMobil Supply Chain (EMSC) and contribute to the success of a growing Product Solutions (EMPS) business.  Our Major Growth Ventures Supply Chain Advisors lead the supply chain strategy development for future growth steps, playing a critical role in shaping the growth plans for the corporation.  Advisors architect and build out supply chains, leveraging internal and external networks to design competitive, industry leading logistics facilities and networks.

These positions are located at our campus in Spring, Texas.

What you will do

• Conduct industry logistics infrastructure studies for prospecting of new ventures
• Provide input on land evaluation to assess fit for future logistics infrastructure
• Develop supply chain scope and operational alternatives, including onsite/offsite logistics design basis and cost estimates, leveraging internal and external experts
• Assess risk of supply chain operability, raw material security of supply and network resiliency
• Provide project development input, including supply chain basis for project economics and detailed design 
• Align stakeholders on design basis, including manufacturing, supply chain operations and commercial 
• Develop third party logistics scope and commercial strategies, working closely with Supply Chain, Procurement and Manufacturing

About you

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or relevant technical field from an accredited university 
• 10+ years supply chain experience, petrochemical/refinery industry preferred

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead without formal authority
• Team player with strong communication, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and ownership of tasks  
• Project planning and execution experience, capable of managing multiple interfaces and prioritizing work 
• Experience working with major ports, railroads and other logistics service providers
• Commercial/procurement and operations experience preferred
