Our greatest asset has been, and will continue to be, our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill multiple positions of Process Lab Chemist in our Low Carbon Venture (LCV) Business Unit based in Houston, Texas.

Essential Job Duties: 

·        Maintain, as our highest priority, the protection of the environment, the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products.

·        Provide qualitative and quantitative analytical services, including new or enhanced test procedures or processes, as required by TerraLithium or LCV staff.

·        Produce clear, concise, accurate, and timely written and oral reports in which conclusions and recommendations are effectively supported by analytical and/or research data and supporting literature.

·        Determine lab equipment and instrumentation needs for routine or project lab work. Ensure availability and reliability of equipment through routine maintenance, repairs, modifications and design of equipment.

·        Provide attention to detail, and dedication to work in order to ensure reliability of the work site as well as high quality product.

·        Coordinate with vendors, customers, technical resources and field test sites to accomplish goals.

·        Plan, design, initiate and complete analytical or research projects to facilitate problem solving for TerraLithium, LCV Technology Development or other technical staff.

·        Participate in special projects including serving on committees, and other activities.

·        Monitor and evaluate impact of changing technologies and markets in selected areas of interest to TerraLithium and make recommendations as to appropriate options.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

·        BS or MS Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other related technical discipline

·        A minimum of 2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory

·        Must have knowledge of fundamental chemical principles, laboratory practices, laboratory safety and associated computer support systems.

·        Self-motivated with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

·        Strong analytical/problem solving skills.

·        Able to provide minor maintenance on analytical instruments.

·        High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to read, write and speak in English

·        Ability to speak Spanish a plus

·        Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.

·        Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
