HYBRID ELIGIBILITY

This position works a hybrid schedule, spending time remotely and in the office in Minot, ND. The current hybrid schedule provides flexibility to collaborate in the office Tuesdays through Thursdays and work from home Mondays and Fridays. With our 9/80 feature you get time off every other Friday when you work at least 80 hours over the preceding nine days.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Engineer (PE) – Greenhouse Gas (GHG) will be part of the Small Projects Execution Team (SPE) and part of larger overall Hess Infrastructure Team.   The PE–GHG will be responsible for delivering GHG projects that will focus on reducing or eliminating GHG at both upstream and midstream surface facilities.  The PE–GHG may also take part in executing projects that reduce GHG emissions in other surface activities for the Bakken, such as drilling or completions.  In general projects are expected to range from $30MM to $1 MM, with project durations ranging from 6 to 18 months.  The PE – GHG is responsible for all project execution objectives in the Refine and Implement stages as well as other project execution activities including: engineering, procurement, securing land easements, permitting, construction, and commissioning.  The PE – GHG works closely with multiple Hess stakeholders including Development, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Land, Regulatory, Operations, and Maintenance Reliability & Integrity to deliver successful projects.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops projects according to a corporate stage gate process
  • Delivers cost and schedule estimates to the Development team to support Front-End Loading activities for Screen stage decision support packages
  • Delivers Refine stage decision support packages
  • Drive development of fit-for-purpose project execution plans
  • Coordinates resources as required for engineering, procurement, land-rights acquisition, regulatory permitting, and construction
  • Coordinates internal and external engineering and construction resources
  • Coordinate with Well Factory project leads to ensure safe and efficient execution of multiple scopes on well site facilities
  • Coordinates with the Well Factory stakeholders to ensure projects are completed in advance of initial production
  • Coordinate with field based construction supervisors to ensure safe and on-time project delivery
  • Develop cost and schedule estimates
  • Maintains a working knowledge of and ability to apply engineering specifications, regulations, standards, and permitting requirements
  • Communicates project deliverables and recommendations thru written and oral presentations and technical reports

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • 3 or more years of experience working in the oil and gas industry; project management, operations, engineering, and/or maintenance experience is a significant plus   
  • Knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and design methods

 

Education, Training & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management

    • Ability to identify industry proven solutions to infrastructure requirements
    • Engineering skills necessary for execution of technical and economic feasibility evaluations
    • Knowledge of typical project management and execution deliverables
    • Project management skills including ability to organize, plan, and deliver results per a business timeline
    • Knowledge of project cost estimating, scheduling, and risk assessment
    • Knowledge of equipment specification and procurement
    • Ability to apply sound, independent judgment and be decisive to determine a course of action consistent with an established project framework
    • Ability to quickly establish credibility and gain support within a new organization
    • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written), including the ability to develop technical reports and presentations
    • Ability to manage external construction services
