The Projects Director – FPS Newcastle leads a team of project management professions through the project lifecycle for an assigned portfolio of projects covering multiple customers and regions.

Responsible as a functional leader for managing a successful team to enable delivery a portfolio of projects on-time and on budget, ensuring that Baker Hughes maximizes its short and long term revenue, profit and cash collection.

As a Projects Director – FPS Newcastle , you will be responsible for:

• Lead a team of Project Management, Project Planning and Project Operations professionals.
• Responsible for managing & delivering a portfolio of global projects across multiple customers and regions.
• Allocating workload & managing team demand & capacity across direct & regional reports
• Ensuring functional alignment across the business to delivery to contractual commitments and customer expectations.
• Prioritizing deliverables of a complex global portfolio of projects
• Interface between the region and the product company operations to ensure aligned priorities.
• Drive flawless execution to project deliverables across the business functions.
• Delivering projects on-time and on-budget
• Developing an execution strategy to drive increased margin & profitability.
• Developing long-term strategic execution plans
• Engaging with the commercial & sales team to support winning bids, developing a plan for successful delivery & minimizing risks.
• Building positive long-term relationships which regional customers which help to capture market share.
• Promote a risk management mind-set, identify and eliminate project risk.
• Understanding customer contracts and executing within contract parameters while mitigating risk
• Deliver key functional metrics including OTD, Cash, Margin expansion.
• HSE & Quality Leadership commitment, engaging and driving safety values.
• Contribute to the Newcastle site leadership team

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Have a BSc in Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management/Social Sciences, or relevant professional experience.
• Be able to demonstrate expertise and experience in project management principles (e.g. Prince, APM).
• Have a solid background in project management with a proven track record.
• Have excellent stakeholder relationship skills that inspire trust and confidence.
• Have effective leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, influence and resolve conflict.
• Strives for achieving the project goals and customer satisfaction.
• Have passion for the work, intellectual rigor and professional discipline while running the project.
• Have strong team leadership and team building skills.
• Have a permanent work permit in UK
