Job Description:

 

Our client, a mining company with a growing portfolio of projects in Africa, is seeking a skilled Resource Geologist to join its technical team in Zimbabwe.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting mineral resource growth through geological interpretation, resource estimation, data analysis and technical input into exploration and project development activities. This position will work closely with geology, exploration and mine technical teams to produce reliable resource models and support business decisions across operating and development assets.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build and update geological and mineral resource models for exploration and mining projects.
  • Interpret drilling and sampling information to support resource evaluation and future targeting.
  • Prepare Mineral Resource estimates and contribute to classification and validation processes.
  • Apply geostatistical techniques to improve estimation quality and confidence levels.
  • Assist with reconciliation, sensitivity reviews and resource development studies.
  • Support exploration teams with technical input for drill planning and target prioritisation.
  • Review geological datasets to identify opportunities for resource expansion.
  • Monitor and maintain exploration databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency of information.
  • Contribute to QA/QC processes covering drilling, sampling, assay and survey data.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations and summary outputs for internal review and project planning.
  • Work in line with accepted industry codes and reporting standards.

 

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or related discipline.
  • Honours or Master’s Degree in Geostatistics, Economic Geology or Resource Evaluation advantageous.
  • 5+ years’ experience in gold and copper Resource Geology and Mineral Resource estimation.
  • Strong geological modelling and geostatistical capabilities.
  • Experience supporting exploration and mining operations.
  • African mining and exploration experience highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of JORC, SAMREC, NI 43-101 and / or S-K 1300 reporting standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in Leapfrog Geo and Datamine Studio RM.
  • Experience with Datamine Supervisor, ArcGIS/QGIS, Power BI and advanced Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of variography, kriging, IDW, resource classification and block model validation.

 

Contractual Information:

  • Permanent contract with probationary period.
