Are you looking for an excellent fixed-term contract position within the Oil & Gas Sector? My client are looking for a Senior Group Financial Accountant to join their Finance team in Chiswick on a 12 month fixed-term contract. They are a leading independent oil and gas company.

Key Responsibilities: Senior Group Financial Accountant

• Crafting high-quality monthly, half-yearly, and year-end consolidated financial results, ensuring strict adherence to guidelines, policies, and accounting best practices.
• Delivering insightful analysis of reported results, contributing to strategic decision-making.
• Collaborating with BDT finance teams to resolve complex technical accounting and process issues, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of monthly consolidation.
• Managing the financial consolidation system (Cognos Controller) and overseeing monthly close activities.
• Providing guidance on technical accounting matters and actively participating in the preparation of crucial documents for consideration by the Audit Committee.
• Coordinating and meticulously preparing half-year and year-end results disclosures and financial statements.
• Facilitating seamless interim and year-end audits through effective liaison with auditors.
• Coordinating the Group’s global statutory accounts process.
• Contributing to various corporate projects, including the annual intra-Group dividend process, Balance sheet re-org, and step plans.
• Assisting with Monthly Performance Reports and conducting in-depth analysis of one-off business transactions.
• Playing a crucial role in group-wide finance projects as needed.

Key Requirements: Senior Group Financial Accountant

• Degree qualified with a certified or chartered accounting qualification.
• “Big 4” experience would be beneficial but not essential (Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG).
• Minimum 3 years Post Qualified Experience.
• In-depth understanding and application of relevant accounting principles, IFRS, policies, and processes.
• Proficiency in financial systems principles, with hands-on experience in SAP and ideally Cognos Controller.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent MS Office skills.
