Ship HSE & Incident Officer β

Our client, a leading international energy organisation is seeking a Ship HSE & Incident Officer to support LNG shipping operations, maritime risk management and incident response activities across a global LNG fleet environment.
This role will play a key part in supporting shipping HSSE governance, emergency response coordination, maritime security monitoring and operational resilience activities within a fast-paced international shipping operation.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Develop and maintain LNG shipping incident response and emergency management procedures
β’ Act as the focal point for LNG ship incident reporting and stakeholder communications
β’ Support and facilitate incident response activities during marine emergencies and operational disruptions
β’ Coordinate mobilisation exercises, emergency drills and response simulations with ship operators and internal teams
β’ Monitor global maritime security risks and provide timely operational updates to stakeholders
β’ Support shipping risk assessments and mitigation activities in line with enterprise risk management processes
β’ Assist with external HSSE audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
β’ Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner / Chief Engineer) OR degree qualified within Marine, Engineering, Business or similar
β’ Previous experience within LNG shipping, marine operations, HSSE, maritime security or incident management environments
β’ Strong understanding of marine HSSE standards and operational risk management
β’ Experience supporting or operating within incident response frameworks would be advantageous
β’ Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during high-pressure operational situations
β’ Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
β’ Flexible approach with willingness to support out-of-hours operational incidents when required
