We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Specialist HSE Ops in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), HSE Business Unit based in Denver City, TX.

 

HSE Ops Specialist are critical members of Oxy’s integrated team since the foundation of Oxy’s business. The primary objective for this position is to be the focal point for integrating HSE practices and policies into daily operations across-functional teams, which includes operations and support functions.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for communicating and applying federal, state, local and company HSE policies in addition to requirements within operations

  • Develop and implement new and existing programs designed to promote improved HSE performance, annual maintenance of risk management plans, emergency response planning, audits and assessments

  •  Conduct Investigations, root cause analysis and site remediation

  •  Provide HSE training and support to operations/construction field personnel

  •  Maintain water system for the plant/field operations

  •  Participate in HAZIDs, PHAs, and risk assessment

  •  Provide HSE support to the Plants Process Safety Management Team

  •  Provide HSE support to the EOR Air Quality Team

  •  Responsible for tracking emissions events internally and then reporting externally when required

  •  General HSE Record keeping, internal and external reporting, development of written reports

  •  Mentor other HSE professionals

Qualifications

 

Education:

High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience

 

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of relevant OOG HSE industry or field operations experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety

  • Demonstrated ability to work within multi-discipline team environment

  • Ability to prepare and deliver both written and oral presentations

  • Intermediate proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite software

  • Sound problem solving and time management skills

  • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record

 

Additional Desired Qualifications:

HSE-related degree or HSE certifications strongly preferred
