Job Summary

Lower 48 Overview

The Lower 48 represents the largest ConocoPhillips business segment today based on production, with high-quality positions in the U.S. unconventionals. These low cost of supply and low GHG-intensity assets have significant upside potential.

The company’s large Lower 48 position of 10.3 million net acres, including unconventional holdings of approximately 1.7 million net acres, represents scalable inventory with low cost of supply and low GHG emissions intensity with the potential to generate significant returns over many years of future development. Current major focus areas for the Lower 48 include the Delaware and Midland Basins, part of the world-class Permian Basin, as well as the Eagle Ford and Bakken.

In 2022, net crude oil production was 534 MBOED.

Description

The L48 Supply Chain Data Analytics Lead will report directly to the L48 Supply Chain Strategy Integration Director. The Strategy Integration Team is a newly created team in L48 Supply Chain established to drive governance and assist in shaping future sourcing, contracting and supplier performance strategies that align with long term business plans & priorities. The support will span across L48 and include Delaware Basin, Midland Basin, Bakken & Eagle Ford. The Strategy Integration Team will act as a key partner to category owners, business representatives and other appropriate teams and individuals.

If you are selected as the L48 Data Analytics Lead for Supply Chain, you can expect to partner with the Strategy Integration Lead, Supply Chain Category teams, asset team representatives, and other analytics or IT representatives as appropriate. You will lead the development of analytics solutions that: assist in finding opportunities for change, support long term strategies, and enable category owners to handle spend & contracts more efficiently.

Job Description

Responsibilities may include:

  • Using & leveraging data from the data warehouse and source systems such as SMART & SAP. Incorporating key operational data with contracts, invoicing, and financial data
  • Working with category teams and personnel to deliver complex reports, tools and solutions to enhance business insights based upon data. Developing and working software reports, providing solutions and consulting on IICS, Informatica, SAP ER, Spotfire and Power BI capabilities
  • Identifying applications for advanced analytics and developing and tuning machine learning models to drive business value
  • Recommending & establishing governance or new analytics standards as appropriate to drive L48 consistency
  • Thinking strategically, developing key insights from analysis, and simplifying complex data analysis into clearly defined opportunities for execution
  • Leading and independently progressing analyses by having a solid understanding of asset/field development life cycle & financial cost structures
  • Effectively collaborating with a broad range of partners such as Category Owners, Asset teams, Global Supply Chain & other Analytics, or IT teams
  • Mentoring and strengthening analytics skills with your peers across the L48 Supply Chain organization
  • Defining and organizing detailed project deliverables, driving action plans, and identifying gaps or project milestone risks

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, other related business field, other related technical field, or foreign equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics supporting business & technical insights
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis

Preferred:

  • 10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry
  • 5+ years of experience as self-starter, with development and architecture in Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate, TIBCO Spotfire Analytics platform integrated with TERR, Iron Python environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Data Architecture, relational databases and integration experience using Snowflake, Teradata, IICS and Informatica. Consistent track record to create Business Intelligence views for Analytical needs
  • Experience with Java Scripting, R, Python scripting and programming languages
  • Awareness of developing solutions and applying machine learning models in BI and Analytics solutions across the TIBCO Statistica, R, or Python platforms
  • Strong understanding of business data & processes; intermediate level of proficiency navigating financial cost structures & reporting
  • Awareness of Global Supply Chain Integrated Visualization platform (SIV) and the global Supply Chain Data Warehouse (SCDW)
  • Ability to establish relationships and mentor others which will be crucial to facilitate greater adoption
  • Hard-working and motivated with a desire and ability to solve problems creatively
  • Ability to lead multifunctional efforts and communicate/engage effectively with senior management
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
