NNPC pushes Nigeria’s energy agenda at OTC 2026

Port Harcourt — Nigeria’s state-owned energy company, NNPC Limited, has strengthened its global industry presence as the 2026 Offshore Technology Conference, OTC, opened in Houston, Texas, with participation from energy leaders and policymakers across more than 100 countries.

The conference, widely regarded as one of the world’s leading offshore energy events, held last week at NRG Park, bringing together top executives, regulators, investors, and technology experts to discuss the future of global energy development.

At the Nigerian Pavilion, the Chief Financial Officer of NNPC Limited, Dapo Segun, and the company’s Executive Vice President, Upstream, Udy Ntia, joined the Commission Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, NUPRC, Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, to formally declare the Nigerian Pavilion open.

The Nigerian delegation used the platform to showcase investment opportunities, regulatory reforms, and ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas sector.

Speaking at the conference’s General Session, President Mohamed Irfaan Ali of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana urged global energy leaders to rethink the ongoing global energy conversation.

According to him, the industry should shift its focus “from energy transition to energy balance,” stressing the need for a more pragmatic approach to global energy security and sustainability.

Industry stakeholders at the conference deliberate on offshore exploration, energy security, decarbonisation, technology innovation, and financing for future energy projects.

NNPC Limited said its participation at OTC 2026 underscores its strategic role as Africa’s leading national oil company and reflects its commitment to sustained engagement with the global energy industry at the highest levels.
