What role you will play in our team


Graders are lab technicians who are responsible for managing, organizing, reviewing, and approving all quality certification data for site products, enabling proper sale and release of these products via ship or rail. This is a computer-based role with some time spent inside the lab interacting with lab technicians who are performing analyses. Graders work 12-hour rotating day shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support a 24/7 manufacturing site. This position is located in Gregory, Texas.


What you will do


  • Manage, organize, review, and approve all quality certification data for site products
  • Collaborate with lab technicians, site engineers, supply chain and logistics personnel, chemist, and supervision on test results and product movement
  • Communicate Data and Product irregularities and out of compliance results to the proper stakeholders accurately and effectively
  • Review and approve marine and rail quality checks
  • Create and send quality reports
  • Work directly in Site Inventory, Quality Management, and Lab LIMS systems
  • Troubleshoot systems issues and work with IT and Applications teams
  • Follow all laboratory methods and procedures rigorously and without deviations
  • Understand general laboratory QA/QC requirements

About you


Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience in a lab setting participating in QA/QC activities and/or data evaluation/analysis. 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Successful completion of the ExxonMobil Pre-employment Test*
  • Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts, includes weekends, and holidays; overtime may be required
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with standard computer software, including MS Word and Excel
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Ability to work under general supervision to meet changing priorities and deadlines within a demanding 24/7 work environment

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience


  • Demonstrated relevant work experience (industrial lab experience), particularly in Inventory, Quality Management, and Lab LIMS systems including SAP and Lot Builder
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Ability to think critically to investigate issues and problem solve

Pre-employment Testing Requirement
