Description

Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering (GGRE) IT organization is responsible for GGRE IT strategy, roadmap & governance, application & workflow practices and support, Global Portfolio management & execution support to Geoscience and Reservoir Engineering staff. GGRE Portfolio Execution & Support Supervisor plays a key role in setting global application management & workflows practices working closely with business stakeholders and vendors. The supervisory role will liaise with GGRE Capability Board & Technical Team in developing and executing GGRE roadmap & strategy and will partner closely with technical capabilities to ensure cross functional and capabilities coloration. This role is in Houston.

GGRE Portfolio Execution & Support Supervisor is accountable for ensuring secure and reliable operations of our GGRE application environment by promoting best practices; managing project scope, budget, resources & delivery; understanding and managing GG, RE and IT requirements & expectations; facilitating communication across disciplines and ensuring that IT solutions are executed in line with the Development & Exploration capability priorities.

Job Description

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Provide GGRE Application Support & Delivery
  • Provide Secure & Reliable Operations of GGRE Application Services
  • Execute GGRE Application Optimization to reduce variety in similar capability
  • Proactive GGRE CMDB, Change, Portfolio management in ServiceNow following best practices defined by Service Management team
  • Develop and Execute Application Upgrade roadmap
  • Execute Application Evaluation working with GGRE Technical Team, Domain Leads & BA
  • Support License Management, Optimization & Compliance
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, vendors, and industry partners
  • Establish GGRE Workflows Global Best Practices & Knowledge Sharing
  • Responsible for Portfolio (Base & Block) Budget planning, management, and timely updates & communication working Domain Leads
  • Coordinate with Release Train Engineer (RTE) to manage Target Process for timely project definition, updates, ranking, and budget updates
  • Execute projects following Scaled Agile principles
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of integrated digital solutions, conduct value tracking and reporting
  • Work with GGRE Capability Owners to develop roadmap, strategies, and implementation plan
  • Collaborate closely with Petrotechnical Data & Solutions Architecture team to ensure security and architecture compliance, drive solution standardization and consistency across technical capabilities

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Geosciences, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical discipline, or foreign equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry
  • 3+ years of experience in IT and/or Project Management

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering domains and having familiarity with their workflows and problems
  • 3+ years of experience in managing GGRE applications: Petrel, Techlog, RokDoc, OFM, Harmony, SLB DELFI, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management using Jira or Microsoft Project for project planning
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of Geoscientist workflows, terminology, and software
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of Cloud Environment, SaaS Solution Model
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Intermediate proficiency in Software Portfolio Management & Vendor Engagement
  • Understands and anticipates the needs of clients and stakeholders. Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding self & others accountable
  • Understands how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business
  • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
