About the Job:

Provides support to the Reservoir engineering function within the development teams in developing Equation of State (EOS) and compositional reservoir simulation models. Generates correlations between various fluids to help in data validation for utilization in various reservoir behavior studies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Participates in the study of reservoir hydrocarbon fluids (behavior) preparatory to introduction of appropriate compositional reservoir simulation model, Includes advising the design of fluid sampling procedure, sampling activities, laboratory study and quality evaluation of study to determine validity of data.

Participates in complex testing, where required, to provide critical analyses and evaluation of reservoir fluids for selection of appropriate compositional simulation model.

Conducts phase behavior study for hydrocarbon fluids, as required, and develops Equation of State (EOS) on the basis of validated laboratory experiment data, and assists Reservoir Engineers in selection of appropriate compositional simulation model.

Develops compositional simulation models to predict and extrapolate reservoir behavior. Prepares study reports and generates supporting data, illustration plots, plates and distributes to concerned teams and specialists.

Monitors the activities of service contractors involved in sampling reservoir fluids and running laboratory experiments.

Designs Asphaltene experiments, quality check Lab results and Prediction of asphaltene precipitation using equation of state

Develops tools to facilitate quality checks on laboratory experiment results. Includes developing appropriate computer programs, to check validity of experiment results by comparing resulting data with historical matches to highlight and investigate abnormal deviations. Generates correlations between various hydrocarbon fluids produced to assist in validating new data and compensate for missing data required for studies.

Defines and assists in procuring computer software requirements for reservoir fluids simulation and related data processing requirements. Provides software support for phase behavior simulation packages to ensure efficient manpower and resource utilization. Liaises with vendors and information technology support group as required.

Keeps abreast of new development in reservoir simulation and phase behavior studies by attending and representing the Company in industry conferences, fora, symposia, PE society meetings and similar functions.

Develop workflows for areal and vertical composition variation mapping for compositional model initialization and condensate tracking for saturated reservoirs.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor Degree Reservoir/Petroleum/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

6-8 years of experience in reservoir engineering including oil and gas fields’ development management and Full Field simulation studies (use software models).

Reservoir and Production Operations Knowledge.

Analytical Reservoir characterization (Material Balance) knowledge
