Roles & Responsibilities

This role will be charged with supporting Area Leadership in coaching, training, and supporting Reliability Operators and embedded Maintenance Technicians to perform their roles within Safety, Quality, and Productivity standards.  In this capacity, the role acts as a field leadership position to encourage and embed change to support the Reliability Operations execution model and components therein. This is a Full Time – salaried position, located in Tioga, ND. The position is not eligible for sponsorship and follows an 8 10-hours days on, 6 days off schedule (Thursday to Thursday).

 

The primary areas of focus will include the following:

  • Standard Work / Abnormality Management
    • Drive embedment of Hess Safety procedures, best practices and standard work as defined by the expectation of a Site Safety Leader
    • Provide oversight for assigned Reliability Operators / Reliability Operator run with a specific focus on 4M factors (man, material, machine and method) to detect abnormalities against defined standards and thereby identify improvement opportunities
    • Provide leadership behavior and people development support to ensure standard processes and disciplined value stream management are maintained; namely
    • Perform leader connected checking through Auditing of existing standards on agreed upon frequency
    • Develop Mentor / Coach relationships to ensure development of Reliability Operator competency and conduct troubleshooting assistance in support of this where necessary
    • Assist Process and Logistics specialists in both developing and providing direct training on new standards and ensuring subsequent competency assurance
    • Where necessary, provide Reliability Operator coverage and ensure execution of daily plan activities inclusive of using same business systems
    • Facilitate or perform execution of more complex maintenance activities
    • Perform Energy Isolation in support of work management or construction processes where necessary
    • Ensure safe execution and effective planning while performing the role of Site Controller, including assurance of quality and thorough completion of Permits, Routine Task Procedures and necessary Certificates
    • Ensure quality of new facility/equipment commissioning/operation between Reliability Operations and the Well Factory via commissioning standard work and post IP walkdowns between these teams
  • Other responsibilities of this role 
    • Backfill for Process / Logistics Specialist as needed

Work Environment

  • Field based role (Tioga) on 8/6 or 4/3 work schedule pending business need 

 

Experience/Skills  

  • 3+ years oil and gas industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of applicable EHS procedures/practices such as Permit to Work, Routine Task Procedure, Energy Isolation, Respiratory Protection, PPE, Emergency Response
  • Strong knowledge of Hess Work Management System
  • Proficient computer skills / business system knowledge (EBS, Iconics, ODR, RO Daily Plan, Microsoft, SAP, XSPOC)
  • Possess strong written and verbal communications skills with ability to lead, coach, and train others
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills

 

Education/Training         

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates degree preferred, but not required
