NCDMB, Green Energy kicks off NC remediation training programme in Yenagoa

Lagos — A Nigerian Content Non-Compliance, NC-NC, Remediation Training Programme of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, in collaboration with Green Energy, has kicked off in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, with 20 Nigerians drawn from all over the country participating in the 12-month scheme.

The training, which centres on critical skill sets such as Piping Engineering, Project Engineering, Safety Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, as well as basics in Information and Communication Technology, ICT, is being sponsored by the NCDMB as part of human capital development to boost indigenous participation in the nation’s oil and gas industry.

Speaking at the kick-off ceremony, the General Manager,Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate of NCDMB, Ms. Lekoma Sonia Phimia, said the initiative represents a pivotal step towards building and fortifying skills essential to the oil and gas industry.

She commended Green Energy International Limited for collaborating with the Board in the training programme and for its decision to retain the top 5 performers among the selected trainees at the completion of the programme. She also expressed appreciation to the facilitators, Dexterous Training Institute, for the top-grade expertise the organisation imparts.

Mrs. Phimia urged the trainees to wholeheartedly engage in the programme and uphold the core values of the NCDMB  noting that the NCDMB is committed to fostering a culture of excellence and professionalism. “The training programme would ensure a calibre of excellence that aligns with our organization and industry standards,” she said.

On behalf of the Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, and the entire Management team of the Board, she declared open the training programme.

Green Energy International, through its Managing Director, Dr. Lyn Udochu, thanked the NCDMB for its bold initiatives in capacity building in the oil and gas industry, and for creating opportunities for collaboration with indigenous companies. She assured the Board that her company would do its best to make the collaboration beneficial to the two organisations and the industry.

The NC-NC Remediation Training Programme is one in a series for which the trainees receive international certification in their specific areas of specialisation.
