Position Overview:

Analyse, design and plan well abandonment projects, in accordance with technical, SE and business norms, procedures and guidelines to ensure the project’s objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile, organise, and analyse all data and information from offset wells and analogues.
  • Validate information relating to well design and operations.
  • Generate well design options (architecture, rig and equipment selection).
  • Prepare basis of design for the selected option complete with risks analysis, legislation, and respect for the environment.
  • Prepare technical specifications to assist in purchasing materials and services.
  • Develop probabilistic time and costs estimates with supporting benchmarking for well projects.
  • Prepare well operations programming and emergency response plans.
  • Support operations during the execution phase of the project and manage change throughout the operation.
  • Review daily reports, cost tracking to ensure accuracy and prepare the necessary information for well transfer (end of well report).
  • Collect and communicate lessons learned, best practices, and key indicators using the knowledge management methods available.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of fifteen years of experience as senior engineer or above
  • Previous P&A campaign experience
  • Extremely knowledgeable with regards to subsea operations from a MODU
  • Knowledge of LWIV operations beneficial
  • Knowledgeable in global P&A standards, practices and techniques
  • Trained in Permit-to-Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Safety Observation (e.g. STOP) processes to support worksite visits
  • Knowledgeable on surface and subsea production wellhead systems
  • Knowledgeable of wireline (electric and slickline) and coiled tubing interventions
  • IWCF level 4 Subsea Supervisoir
  • BOSIET

KEY COMPETENCIES: 

  • Familiar working with stage-gate project management processes, such as Repsol’s Global Project Management System (GIP) or equivalent
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Clear and concise communication skills, including high standard of technical report writing
  • Excellent computer skills: able to use MS-Windows and MS-Office software packages (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook). Experience with MS-Visio and MS-Project would be useful
  • Competent with Drilling engineering software, E.g. Landmark suit of tools
  • Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks assigned and deliver a consistently high standard of work accurately and on-time
  • Self-driven and independent, able to work unsupervised
  • Able to work effectively as part of a multi-discipline team, interfacing with other departments such as Subsurface, Supply Chain, Projects, and Operations
  • Able to work remotely with limited supervision
